CMI-SEA

Not much to report, really. Took a new job with Microsoft and moved to Seattle (Bellevue, actually). Working on Flight Simulator, of course. Rachel will be joining me in January after her bacteria finish their last morsels of sludge. Dogs are vacationing in Maryland while the house sells (we hope). Civic is more loyal than ever, mindful of its impending replacement. Rachel is pregnant. Wait, what?

Space Alien
It’s the creature in the center, wearing the space helmet. Yesterday marked the 12-week point and public release of information. At this rate, my next blog post will most likely center around his or her college admissions process.

Perhaps to avoid the next update coming in 18 years, Rachel should start updating her blog tab with regular pregnancy updates. I keep having to e-mail her to find out how she’s faring. And it is unfair, because she is faring much better than I am. So is Jenni. Darn sisters!

Glen, I love your dry wit. I always have. In case you didn’t knowI’m Mimi not Mammie for the twonew ones coming. I’ll always be Mammie in New England.

I LOVE how this sonogram is labeled BABY. Why isn’t it labeled DIMOCKY BABY. Anyhoo, she looks like a seahorse right now!! (YES, I think it will be a little girl! named Peregrine!!)

CONGRATULATIONS! this means a whole another genre of photography to add to your portfolio! weddings, animals and babies! but please don’t name your child peregrine. she wants friends one day. :,P

congrats on the new job as well! do you get to see mike now? if so, hi from me!

  5. Comment from Glen on 22 Nov. 2008, 3:51 pm :

Peregrine comes from an email that was misdirected to me several months ago. A teacher was writing the parents of Peregrine to complain of her misbehavior. And no, we will not name our child Peregrine! How can you be named Peregrine and not misbehave?

I do, indeed, get to see Mike now. I’ll say hi to him for you.

Happy Spring

It’s springtime in Champaign and time for my quarterly blog update. So much worth reporting, so little of it blog-appropriate. Instead, here are some tulips in our front yard:

Merry Christmas!

Posted by Glen in on 16 Dec. 2007, 5:46 pm

Aerogeek has fallen into disrepair, and I blame it on to relative convenience of Facebook’s single-line status reporting system (now with 25% more verbs!). Or is this to blame? In any case, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and hopefully Rachel and I will get to see everybody during our biannual Maryland homecoming next week. We’ll be back on Dec. 21st, returning to the flatlands on the 27th; give us a call!

Cupcakes from last evening’s Christmas party

Budget management should be given importance to cover related expenses. Wise saving is needed to survive amidst economic crisis. For the second straight month, consumer prices have dropped. However, as this happens, the unemployment rate is rising. First home purchases have sunk to a fifty year low. Retail giants like Best Buy and Office Depot are sustaining big losses as Americans tighten their purse strings during leaner times. The Christmas season, long the hub around which the retail year revolves, hasn’t been able so far to make up for the shortfalls. Shattered Worldview

Posted by Glen in on 20 Jul. 2007, 10:02 pm

According to Google, the world contains two Glen Dimocks. I am one of them; points to the first person to correctly profile the other.

  1. Comment from EMBO on 23 Jul. 2007, 11:20 am :

This years Pride Dog Show, in association with Coastway Veterinary Group and Denes Natural Pet Care will take place on Sunday 8th July from 1.00pm at Hove Rugby Club, Old Shoreham Road, Hove. The pedigree classes will be judged by Glen Dimock. Glen grew up in Australia where his parents bred Basenjis, but he has lived in England for the last fifteen years. He has judged all over the world and will be judging at Crufts next year. He works for The Kennel Club too, where he runs the accredited breeders scheme.

  2. Comment from Angela on 24 Jul. 2007, 10:34 am :

I bet Aussie Glen Dimock looks just like you!

  3. Comment from EMBO on 24 Jul. 2007, 10:48 am :

Check out the picture: http://www.pinkuk.com/events/brightonpride/dogpride.asp. Can you guess which one is the Glen? My guess is that this Glen wouldn’t marry a Rachel, though.

  4. Comment from Angela on 25 Jul. 2007, 2:42 pm :

maybe he is married to a Rachel, just less attractive.

  5. Comment from EMBO on 14 Aug. 2007, 9:52 am :

A man named Jim Killeen also googled himself one day, then made it his mission to meet as many of these other Jims as possible. He made a movie out of it called “Google Me”. If only you’d thought of this earlier! ;)

Deep South

Rachel, the dogs and I just returned from a road trip to Alabama and New Orleans. In theory, details will be posted shortly. In practice, here are a few random, unrepresentative photos from the Louisiana portion of the trip. Photos from the family reunion will be available separately.

Alligator on a bayou tour. I was more captivated by the guide’s Caj-on accent.

Blue heron departing the bayou.
