Paint samples

Like Bill Murray sorting through FedExed carpet samples in Lost in Translation, I have been trying to help Rachel choose an exterior paint color via email. Between the incorrect white balance setting on her camera and my uncalibrated monitor here in Arizona, this scheme is not working very well. I think am going to have to trust her judgment (and that of our neighbors) and hope our house does not turn out a hideous fluorescent blue, as it appears on my monitor.

Can you post said exterior hopefully non-fluorescent blue online and poll your faithful readers?

  2. Comment from Glen on 23 Apr. 2006, 12:09 pm :

But you would have the same problem that I had: the electronic version does not match the real version. In any case, our neighbors helped Rachel decide.

Everyone can look forward to pictures of the house as it is transformed by “Gray’s Harbour”. I can’t wait!

Whoops! That last comment was from me (Rachel), in case the name gets messed up again.

  5. Comment from Katie on 23 Apr. 2006, 6:51 pm :

Well, Glen (Rachel), where are the pix of our precious nephew? Who cares about the color of the house when there are baby pix to be posted???

  6. Comment from Maggie on 23 Apr. 2006, 7:22 pm :

    What Katie said.

  7. Comment from Em on 2 May. 2006, 12:18 pm :

Ha ha, Ms. Glena! Freda is gonna love that one. ;)

  8. Comment from Katie on 3 May. 2006, 3:47 pm :

I found it interesting all the very important people who used that interoffice envelop before it made its way to Ms. Glena. Amazing…

  9. Comment from Tammy on 8 May. 2006, 1:51 pm :

    The shrubbery is lovely!

We just got back from the lake. Remember when I asked you about editing text from a scanned document? I can do it very easily with my HP copier, printer and scanner. It is alrady set up so I can scan a document into Microsoft Word and then edit it if I want to. Glad it is so easy. Joy

In the confusion of last week, I forgot to congratulate Jenni and Bill on the birth of Jonathan, my first nephew! Congratulations!

  1. Comment from Katie on 2 Apr. 2006, 1:46 pm :

Hooray! You should really post a pic or two in his honor. He’s more photogenic than a Gerber baby.

  2. Comment from Angela on 3 Apr. 2006, 7:16 pm :

    YEAH, seriously UNCLE Glen.

  3. Comment from Maggie on 4 Apr. 2006, 9:00 am :

Hey, Uncle Glen and Aunt Rachel, are you surviving the stormy weather ok?

  4. Comment from Glen on 8 Apr. 2006, 6:21 pm :

Katie: I have assigned Rachel to that committee. She has the pictures.
Maggie: Yes, we have pervailed through the tornados and crazy winds. Our neighbor’s fence was not so lucky.

  5. Comment from Maggie on 8 Apr. 2006, 7:49 pm :

Oh dear. What happened to the fence? Have there been tornados nearby?

  6. Comment from Glen on 10 Apr. 2006, 6:01 am :

Apparently there were strong “straight-line” winds. Nothing to stop them, really. There was also a tornado to the north and a tornado to the south, but Champaign remained tornado-free.

  7. Comment from DAD on 10 Apr. 2006, 9:14 am :

Is there a picture of the downed fence?

  8. Comment from Tammy on 10 Apr. 2006, 1:50 pm :

Time to move back here, where it is almost ALWAYS tornado-free.

  9. Comment from Glen on 10 Apr. 2006, 5:06 pm :

In the original spirit of this post, I will refrain from posting any fence pictures. Imagine a fence, only horizontal. Also, Maryland has had more tornados than Champaign since we’ve lived here. One even tore the roof off of my former Maryland apartment building the year after I moved out, so there.

Where was that dirigible?-and don’t say “aloft”
The garden looks very nice. What’s growing?

  12. Comment from Glen on 20 Apr. 2006, 9:00 am :

    Blimp was in Phoenix.
Rachel will have to answer the garden question. I know there are several varieties of peppers and that I was not allowed to grow corn (too large).

  13. Comment from Glen on 20 Apr. 2006, 9:01 am :

I should add that the Goodyear blimp was actually in Goodyear, AZ, which is east of Phoenix.

  14. Comment from DJ Biggie Freak Z on 20 Apr. 2006, 9:25 am :

  17. Comment from Glen on 21 Apr. 2006, 3:07 pm :

You can plant it yourself when you come out here next month!
