Happy Halloween!

Still no honeymoon/wedding update. Instead, we spent the evening carving these awesome jack-o-lanterns. I think they’re even better than last year’s flying cat-ghosts.

No, the machines have not yet figured out how to post to my blog. This subject line was featured on a recent SPAM received in my inbox, skipped by my SPAM filter and likely sent by a fat guy in his basement with a profound sense of irony. In another disturbing development, the machines have apparently learned to leave SPAMtastic comments on my blog.
Loyal readers will have to survive one more day without a complete honeymoon post. In the meantime, here are some honeymoon photos to appease the honeymoon-starved masses until my honeymoon bullet points become honeymoon paragraphs.
I forgot to mention that the wedding photo proofs are now available online, and they’re excellent. Email Rachel or me for the link. It requires a password, which I don’t want to post — the spammers might somehow use it to their advantage.
Who’s the crazy person with the moniker so close to mine leaving comments on your honeymoon pics?
May I have the link? You have my email.
oh, link please?
She’s not crazy! She’s my mother. She likes flowers and trees
mil = mother in law
Desperately seeking wedding photos. Email me.
No insult meant by the term crazy (which = funny). I thought the comments were amusing as I would write very similar comments myself if I were inclined to leave them.
Hook me up with pics, yo.
Thank you SPAM. That reminds me of what my email said this morning: “Why drive a Pinto when you can have a Cadillac?” and the immortal “Pull a MONSTER out of your pants.”
May I have the link and PW? Danke.
I am going to post an update about the first two weeks of married life, but not tonight. Our apartment is a disaster area, strewn with wedding presents, bills and cat hair, and I am going to seriously think about asking Rachel to consider doing something about it. That should make for a more interesting update on married life tomorrow. Also, I am having trouble typing after attempting to read several paragraphs backward (see link on tagboard).
In the meantime, I shall award 25 former-Aerogeek points to anyone who can help me decipher the following mysterious fortune received at “Ciao Mein”, a Chinese-Italian restaurant in Honolulu:
“Learn to perform a special procedure personally.”
No comment on the fortune
Clearly they are suggesting you learn to perform a solo root canal.
Obviously the guy above me believes the special procedure you must perform is buying weight-loss pills over the interweb.
Hmm…it looks like the Machines have found you. Is it possible to spam a website?
We are being conquered by the machines.
The honeymoon has been extended until Saturday. Frankly, Waikiki was more alluring than Savoy–even when considering the Savoy Cinema 10. For Rachel, this is a vacation from our vacation. Oahu may not have nearly as many wild chickens–an endless source of entertainment for both of us–as Kauai, but I do not feel so compelled to arrange non-stop activities on this island. Our activities here include swimming, reading, and lamenting the World Series that could have been.

Warning: Don’t go to the zoo. It’s the suckiest zoo ever.
Suggestions: Take a day-long drive through the whole island (you can use the Mormon temple as a pee stop!). Stop at Giovanni’s for lunch (it sounds expensive but it’s really like an ice cream truck that serves shrimp and rice instead of ice cream). Drive to the top of one of the big overlook mountains and watch the sun go down one evening. Go snorkeling at Hanauma Bay (or something like that). Visit the Pali overlook.
Then come back and speak to me about getting a group vacation home on Oahu.
Oh, and you two look adorable.
agreed. But upon your return to the mainland, could you possibly explain why Kauai is apparently overrun with feral chickens?
I think it is great that you extended the honeymoon! Now Rachel can finally relax, right?
Hey, that Hawaiian shirt finally looks at home
Today’s Japanese lesson: arigato means thank you.
You crazy kids! The relaxation time is well-deserved. All I ask is that you please bring me back some feral poultry.
Are they wearing matching outfits? How cute (kawaii)!!!
And tomorrow’s Japanese lesson - domo arigato is thanks in a very respectful way. Hee hee. I watch WAY too much anime…
Uh, yeah…my knowledge of Japanese is directly derived from Big Bird Goes To Tokyo, we won’t be going much farther than arigato and moshi moshi.
Well all I got is what’s already been up - Domo Arigaoto… and I took it from Austin Powers who I think got it from a song “Domo arigato Mr. Roboto”
Rachel and Glen - Bring me back some hawaii sand so I can take my own vacation.
Much better pic, Rachel! By the by, you got some great wedding gifts! I’m really enjoying them!
We’re in Kauai and loving it. There are wild chickens everywhere, even on the beach. Here is my fifteenth attempt to take our photo with my phone (Rachel had other ideas).

I can’t tell from that picture, do you have a tan yet?
Maybe Rachel is not cooperating because she knows about the “No Communication on the Honeymoon” Rule. I know, this is the first I’ve ever heard of it too
The wedding was awesome! So many people told me what a great time they had! I hope you guys are relaxing!
Your wedding matched the weather—JUST PERFECT!
I am so jealous, I may puke! Have lots of fun for us poor working stiffs!
Why is Rachel in Hawaii with Bono?
Oh, wait…
Thanks to the bride, sister #2 and MOB now have colds! I want to bake it out on the beach in Hawaii! No fair!

Wow. I’m impressed! Did you use templates or was it free-hand?
Happy Halloween!
Comment from Em on 31 Oct. 2003, 10:08 am :
Glen’s been watching QVC at work again….I saw them selling those templates on the show this week. Very fancy! My house is embarrassingly pumpkinless.
Comment from Rachel on 31 Oct. 2003, 10:36 am :
They were patterns, but not QVC. Mine (the cat) was found on the internet, and Glen’s spider was clip-art that he modified into a pumpkin pattern. This was my first ever non-triangled-eyed and nosed jack-o-lantern.
Comment from Maggie on 31 Oct. 2003, 1:07 pm :
Flying cat-ghosts?
Comment from Glen on 31 Oct. 2003, 5:40 pm :
